Twin sisters Laura and Megan Kohner, 17, of Wellington, can’t wait to spend a $5,000 education grant from Pepsi for their local charity.

The Suncoast High School juniors just learned their Bikes For Kidz Inc., nonprofit received enough online votes to land a Pepsi Refresh Project award.

It means area students living in poverty will get new bicycles and helmets beginning in February. The charity has provided hundreds of bikes to needy kids since 2008.
